Robert M. Powers

Robert M. Powers was born and raised in Milwaukee and earned his BS in mechanical engineering from Marquette University, where a lifelong passion for Marquette basketball began. After 2 years as an engineer with Continental Can Company in Chicago, Bob attended Tulane University, receiving an MBA. Shortly afterwards, he began his accounting career with Ernst & Ernst in San Francisco. For the next 10 years, he contributed to the audits of a variety of commercial and professional service companies, including Transamerica, the California Teachers Association, Rucker-Fuller, and Woodward- Clyde Consultants. He also was involved with the audits of Sterling, Simi, Franzia, and Monterey Vineyards. While at Ernst & Ernst (later Ernst & Whinney), Bob handled recruitment for the San Francisco office.

As Bob's family set down roots in San Francisco, he realized that he wanted to be a more integral part of the business community and to work with a greater number of local privately- held companies. In 1981, Bob joined Calegari & Morris, where he's striven consistently to become a key business advisor to his clients. Bob specializes in tax planning (for businesses and owners); succession planning; retirement planning; mergers and acquisitions; as well as general business and financial planning. The network of attorneys, bankers, pension administrators, and other professionals with whom he works is extensive, ensuring that every client is able to choose a combination tailored to his unique situation.

In addition, Bob's recruited many of the key members of the Calegari & Morris team.
